For those of you who have been fuming in anger after coming across the news last September on the killing of a pregnant cat at a self-service laundrette, well, good news.

One of the killers, A. Mohanraj, have been handed a sentence of two years’ jail by the Selayang Sessions Court today (January 17, 2019). The man will be serving his sentence from the date of his arrest which was September 14 last year.

Mohanraj was charged with animal cruelty towards a pregnant cat at a laundrette on September 11, last year. The other culprit, S. Satthiya, was a given a discharge without an acquittal for the same offence.

The footage of the dreadful action of two men placing a cat into a clothes dryer and running it, inevitably killing the cat. The video went viral on social media. A female customer made the gruesome find and informed the manager of the outlet through a phone call.

Mohanraj however reportedly said that he regrets his actions and apologised to all Malaysians for his deed.
