According to a report in Astro Awani, Padawan district police chief Superintendent Aidil Bolhassan said that an Instagram poll was conducted by the 16-year-old girl prior to her suicide. Wretchedly, about 69 percent of the girl’s Instagram followers voted to have her commit suicide.

According to the news report, the teenager posted the poll with the headline “Really Important, Help Me Choose D/L” where D stood for a vote to die while L for live.

The girl also reportedly posted a status on Facebook which read ‘WANNA QUIT *expletive* LIFE I’M TIRED’.

The police have gathered information that the teenager was possibly stressed out when her stepfather who works in Singapore, got himself married to a Vietnamese lady and seldom returned home.

The girl’s body was found sprawled in a pool of blood by a member of the public who quickly reported the incident to the police. She was wearing a t-shirt and shorts and sustained severe head injuries due to the fall.

Superintendent Aidil said that the body has been brought to the Sarawak General Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem procedure which was scheduled to take place in the evening today.

Since no elements of foul-play were found, the police have classified the case as sudden-death.

Our thoughts and love goes out to the girl’s family and loved-ones.
